I believe if you are in question about an address, you can go to the USPS site, to the PLUS+4 Zip page, and enter the addy, it will give you the complete EDC'able address or tell you that it has a problem. If it does not give you a single plus+4 zip code, and either tells you there is a problem or gives you a range of +4's you then know that the address cannot have DC put on it. |

Thanks for the reply, Sherry, but my question is - if it's not EDC'able, can I correctly assume that there is a problem with the address? Is it possible to have a valid address that is not EDC'able? If this happens in the future, I intend to cancel the order and not ship the book, but I don't want to penalize someone who has provided a valid address. |

Holly, It is possible to have a valid address but not EDC'able....the system is sometimes a little testy & so an abbreviation/vs a word may make an address not EDC'able. e.g. I live in Saint Charles Ave. but my mail must say St. Charles Ave or else DC won't be available. Basically the PO system likes all the addresses to be in the same format so spelling out a word vs. an abbreviation will show as "invalid" . What you can do is PM the person who's address is not EDC'able & tell them they can go to the USPS website to get the right format so that they can update their info on the site to match up so future swappers can get DC if needed. |
