I enjoy historical romances and this is a good one. Judith Tarr is one of my favorite authors. She researches her stories well and I find them quite entertaining. THE EAGLES DAUGHTER is about the struggle for the throne of the Holy Roman Empire during the 10th century. The Empress Theophano is a strong, admirable character. I thought this was a great tale of the Dark Ages.

A good read that rather looses steam toward the end. Based on the history of the Holy Roman Empire around the late 980's AD.
