The East End by Jason Allen is a dark story that takes place over about 3 days. The author creates an intensity that keeps me reading to find out what happens to the characters even though there is no mystery to be solved. I turn the last page and think ... but what happens next? The fact that I invest into the characters and the story to want to know says to me: good read perfect for the beach.
