Cook Time:

Ingredients
  • 2 cups - sugar
  • 3/4 cups - milk
  • 1 cup - peanut butter
  • 1 tbs - dark Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp - vanilla
  • 1 buttered - dish
Directions

First, butter a dish, pie plate, or any container.

Put miik, syrup and sugar into iron skillet.

Have vanilla and peanut butter ready to use because you have to move fast.

Cook sugar mixture over medium heat and stir constantly. Cook just until the last drop on the spoon begins to string just a tiny bit when poured out of the spoon.

Remove from heat, add vanilla and peanut butter and stir quickly until well mixed and pour into dish and pat out. Wait 5 minutes and cut into squares (it cuts easier when warm). Let cool completely and eat up....yum, yum.

Notes

You have to move quickly as soon as you take it off of the heat because it will begin to set immediately as the temperature lowers.

I also use an iron skillet and wooden spoon but I don't think you have to. It is just the way I aways saw it done and so I do it that way too. Makes it seem more old fashioned that way  :)
