This isn't a weight loss book, it teaches you how to eat right and why certain food causes your body to react. Explains what's the differnce between bood types and there origin. I am overwieght and as I read this book I noticed that most the things my parents fed me where the wrong kinds foods. What this means is that my body could not process some of these foods and my body stored them as fat. This book was a great help to me. I was a bit sceptical at first and then I did the opposite to see if it made a difference. Within hours I felt sick and payed for it. Since reading this book and following the guidelines it has helped my way of living. I feel better and found more recipes in the Cook right for your type. It gives examples of how this way of lifesyles has changes people lives and saved a few. Over forty years of research was good enough for me to read it. This is just my opinion and hope this book can help other people as much as it helped me.
After borrowing this book from the library, reading it, and beginning the diet (with a naturopath's recommendation), I wanted to own the book. Unfortunately I purchased two of them, both at library sales! Whoops!
I have never felt better than when I am compliant with this 'diet'. One thing I want to make sure that you know is that over time more testing has been done and Dr. D'Adamo has updated some of the food lists. The newest food list information can be read by anyone on his website for free.
This is the first book he wrote which explains most fully, what the concept is. Although it might seem strange to you, if you open your mind and you try it, you will see that it makes way too much sense!
Subsequent books written by D'Adamo cover other isuses in more depth, such as how to combat very specific illnesses or conditions with this 'diet'.
An excellent way to change your lifestyle, not diet, and get healthy. It makes a lot of sense and helps you see and understand what happens to your body with some foods (now I know why I have an obsession with Peanut Butter)!

Some very interesting information in this book. When I first heard of this diet I was skeptical, but it makes sense. After reading the individualized plan for my blood type I was convinced. There were a couple of astonishing foods that are off limits to me that I absolutely love. This is one good book.
