I have this one and I adore it. It covers biblical erra, Talmudic erra midevil and beyond, both Aknizi and Sephardi traditions. There's a lot of surprising info in here (if you think lax Kosher observance is a modern thing think again,and did you know that until the mideages woman could be Kosher butchers) and often times very specific food information (like what spices rabbi Yom Tov said should go in haroset- however it is *not* a cook book. A must have for any Jewish history nut.
PS sory about the spelling- I'm learning disabled.
