It's all about Beep, Charley is 8 months along and is stuck in a old abandoned convent. But life as a PI will never stop even when the hounds of help are patrolling the grounds to keep her safe from them or from danger, I won't tell. Cookie's wedding is happening, we meet all her crazy relatives including an aunt that is 'touched' with a gift and know we see where Amber does in fact have the gift and will be a big help when she soluble talking to a newborn Beep. Charley's dad is floating around and will be leading to a mystery from his past and how or who was responsible for his death and said mystery is also interested in Charley. Reyes haven't been himself for good reason, he is being literally tortured from within by a powerful being that will show up towards the end. Osh is still giving the mixed signals people trust but others don't trust him but he us essential. The bikers are back you know Donavan and his club from the early years in this series, well they were called and they showed up just to keep Charley under control in case she jumps the needs to save someone from danger. Anyways loads of surprises will happen, heartbreaking moments, betrayal all around aka SPIES even dear old daddy was always one good or bad the truth will shock you.

This is the eighth book in the Charley Davidson series and was a wonderful continuation of this series. These books just keep getting better and better.

This book takes place quite some time after the seventh book ends. Charley and Reyes have been holed up on holy ground at an abandoned convent for 8 months or so; Charley is pretty close to term on her pregnancy.

A lot happens in this book. We learn more about Reyes' birth family and a lot more about Charley and her powers. Charley's friends have become a force in their own right and support her, standing by her side like her own personal army. More is revealed about Lucifer; his army and spies are lurking close to Charley.

Charley goes through some amazing and painful changes in this book. She gains incredibly power and undergoes some insane emotional torment as well.

The book ends on quite a cliffhanger and I am dying to know what happens next. There is a lot of mystery, action, and humor in the story as well. I will say that this book is much more focused on the whole Charley vs. Lucifer storyline than ghostly mysteries. Additionally this book is much more serious than previous ones.

Overall this was an amazing continuation of this series and the story and the characters all have some amazing developments. I am incredibly curious to see what happens in the next book and can't wait to read it. I would recommend to those who enjoy light-hearted urban fantasy mysteries.
