Cute book, read it many times to all of my children when they were youngsters.

This is a great book. My Dad used to read this to us and we all loved it. It's about a Grandma who likes pets(except elephants), and a pet man who manages to give her all of his pets except his elephant before winter. He begs her to take the elephant because the pet man has to leave town for the winter, but he can't take the elephant with him. Eventually Grandma Tildy takes the elephant, but he eats everything in the house, so feeling sorry that he caused so much trouble, the elephant picks the house up on his back and walks all the animals and Grandma Tildy to a warm place for the winter.

This was one of our favorite books when my son was a toddler. It is a great "read-a-loud" for kids.

I bought THIS copy to give to the daughter of a friend, who is having her first baby. I knew that no one else would have it--too good to pass up.

I highly recommend it.

A fun story for children. Although it is aimed at elementary school readers, my 2 year old thinks it is quite silly. This book was from "Weekly Reader".
