I knew about her many marriages and affairs, but reading this book helped me to understand more fully the woman behind those beautiful violet eyes. A child driven by a mother who taught her to seek and demand only the best into a woman consumed by self doubt and low self esteem. A thorough writing on a most misunderstand woman.

This book is really fantastic! I read it once, then went back and read some of my favorite chapters again. I'm only 19 years old, but as a fan of old hollywood movies, film noir, actresses from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, etc. this book was awesome. Her life was so endlessly fascinating and this book is very entertaining! It draws you right in, just like Elizabeth did to so many people in her life, especially men! Plus, it includes many pages of pictures which make it even better.
