I read a review from someone here on PBS about this author, particularly about her writing as Dell Shannon using a character of Luis Mendoza.  I believe she wrote through the 60's, 70's and 80's time period, give or take a few years.

Has anyone read her and if so, what did you think?

I have read all of her series - as Linnington and as Shannon. They are well-written and bring in the human aspect of cop lives. However, please read them knowing the time period in which they were written. References and comments are definitely of the time. Although, like any series, best if read in order but not necessary as each story stands alone. It's just some references to incidences in the other books that won't make as much sense if not read in order. However they are few and not pertinent to the story.
