Contains three of the "87th Precinct" stories. The title story has Carella investigating the murder of a young, rich woman with only a cheque book as evidence. In "J" a Rabbi is viciously killed and in "Storm" a skiing holiday goes wrong when Cotton Hawks discovers a girl's body in the snow.
