I wasn't a big fan of this book. This is the Nick Fury from the 1970's and 80's not the Ultimate Avengers/ Samuel L. Jackson version. But that isn't the reason why I didn't care for it. The plot was interesting, I was excited to see how SHIELD would ultimately save the day but the ending was anti-climatic. Almost like the author realized he needed to end the story and he just ended it. Reminded me of some Stephen King stories, in this case the author doesn't drag the story out for 400 pages. The author is also a professional psychic, so the language he uses throughout the book relates to that profession. He uses a lot of descriptors that someone in that field would use if they were conversing with a peer. I think he overused them. It just didn't fit in a book about Nick Fury Agent of Shield. Maybe if it was Doctor Strange it would have been fine. Or if the book was titled Starla Spacek Agent of Shield that would have worked as well. Starla Spacek was the lead Psychic character in the story. It felt to me that the title character was a secondary character in the story.
