Diagrams and plain English make this thermodynamics book stand out. There are plenty of examples and end-chapter progress and tutorial questions which apply what was learnt. It really makes thermo less daunting. The book is split into 14 sections and covers everything one encounters in a typical undergraduate thermodynamics class. As an engineering book, it puts a bit more of a practical spin on thermo by stressing how modern machines and systems take advantage of thermodynamic properties. In all, I found this 400 page British book much more useful than the 600 page monster assigned to me by my professor.
