My 18-month-old, who has never seen SS but is interested in Ernie from seeing his face on products, loves this book. You can skip about a third of the words/sentences without losing anything. She has never really been lost, but I think it speaks to normal separation anxiety feelings/interest at this age.
Ernie from Sesame Street gets lost in a department store. Teaches children what to do in such a situation.
