This was a good book. It really makes you thankful for what you have. Esperanza Rising takes you through a young girl's life when it changes in a huge way. Esperanza was once a snotty little Mexican princess with everything she could ever want. Then her father dies the day before her birthday and her family and a few loyal servants must run away from her power hungry uncles. Esperanza must learn to work for low wages in the United States.
