This is a collection of 6 historical romance stories by different authors. Timeless Romance Anthologies are collections of various types. Generally, there are 6 different authors writing about one particular genre (Old West, Regency, Valentine's Day, etc.). They are always marketed as clean romances and new stories (written for that compilation).

Lately, this company has started printing books with only 3 stories, though each is a longer novella (yes, there's shrinkage everywhere).

WAR OF HEARTS (Annette Lyon) --
Anna, a reporter, has been sent to Finland in 1939 to observe and report on (what would later be called) the Winter War. This conflict between Stalin and the Finns was supposed to be a walk in the park for the Russians. But the Finns surprised the Soviets. I know quite a bit about this war and the author did a marvelous job of using it as a backdrop for her story.

THE EARL OF OAKSEY TAKES A WIFE (G G Vandagriff) --
'Those who marry in haste can regret at their leisure" is the premise of this story. It is well-told and certainly kept my interest.

GIFT OF LOVE (Michele Paige Holmes) --
Ethan Moorleigh is devastated by the death of his third wife (during the birth of their daughter, Lizbeth). Three years later, Ethan is still grieving but his best friend convinces him to marry his third wife's cousin (currently living in a monastery, getting ready to take her vows). Amelia wakes both Lizbeth and Ethan out of their doldrums. There's also a mystery.

A LESSON IN LOVE (Sarah M Eden) --
A couple, fairly newly married, hit a rough patch when Lucy wants to go out each night and Reed wants to stay at home. Lucy's family gets involved and the fun begins. Light-hearted fun.

AN OCEAN AWAY (Heather B Moore) --
Gina, the daughter of a wealthy shipper, meets her father's biggest enemy. Edmund is closing out his deceased wife's affairs in France when he meets Gina by chance. Edmund's previous marriage was one of convenience; he will only accept a real relationship in the future. Gina takes a terrible gamble to find happiness.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VENICE (Nancy Campbell Allen) --
The story of Evangeline and Matteo is a delightful fairy tale. Not to be missed, this story turns Cinderella slightly askew.
**
Generally, I score stories in an anthology from favorite to least. However, these stories were uniformly top-drawer stuff. I rarely give an anthology a five-star rating; this one deserves that and more!
