I used to read these books when i was a kid. They have wonderful stories that you can really adapt to. (When your 8-14 that is!)

The first book in the revamped Baby-Sitters Club series, Friends Forever, is written diary-style, with entries from Kristy, Mary Anne, Stacey, and Claudia, the original four members of the club. Not coincidentally, the BSC will scale back in the Friends Forever series to include just those four members. The book is very different from earlier BSC books - more grown-up, not nearly as standalone, and full of change. Definitely worth reading if you're a fan of the original series.
