This is not the typical alpha male and weak female story. Damien and Harriet are attracted to each other but do not leap into bed together. They both have baggage but they actually have conversations about those issues and make a decision to back away from each other. There is no violence, no sexual manipulation and no name calling. When they do have a physical relationship it is mutual even though they do decide to not continue it. The ending is not rushed and all the storylines are completed, which I like.
