This is a true story of a man who walked out on his life. He was successful, seemingly happy and one day he just left. It shows the inner workings of this man's experiences and a glimpse of a life many people may have fantasized about. It also offers some insights into why people make the choices they do and explores the darker hidden side of humanity.

One morning a successful community college president and community leader disappeared. Days later, enigmatic messages are received by his beautiful, socialite wife and several close friends. He makes it clear that he will not return. His journey toward a new life, and the effects of his decisions, make for fascinating reading. A great psychological study.

I read this book some years ago and it has stuck with me for all that time. Maybe it is because somewhere in my psyche I have had those thoughts of just walking away and to read about someone (Jay Carsey) who actually did it has intrigued me. If you have ever, even once, had the thought cross your mind about chucking it all and just walking away, I think this book will intrigue you, too.
