Kind of dated, set in England in the late 1980's, story revolves around social class distinctions and the rules of attraction.

All her life, Gemma's parents had stressed the 'right sort' of people. Only once, at fifteen, had Gemma slipped past their biased protection and chosen a secret friend for herself - itinerant laborer Luke O'Rourke.
