Indeed, Unit 6 explains how the English language has developed and presents the English of our region, in both its formal and informal modes, as fully equal with those forms of English which have developed in other parts of the world. Although course work should not be focused too narrowly on the demands of the CXC examination, teachers have a professional responsibility to ensure that students are thoroughly prepared.
In this book, examination requirements are specifically addressed. Many past CXC questions are given, and detailed advice is offered on how to cope with questions requiring continuous writing. Such advice is presented mainly in the Writing guides. These guides should be consulted every time an assignment is undertaken. In addition, example answers are given of the type and length needed.
