I know there have been threads before but since this is a season of giving, maybe people could post here their ways of using credits to benefit others.  I'd be glad to buddy credits to someone who will use them charitibly.

I think some people order books for the military, perhaps find a member that does that?  You might try posting in the Club Members Thoughts thread as well

There is a request on the RAOK second half of November thread (p. 12) for copies of The Little Prince for a school class in Queens, New York.

fefelants (Anne K.) is ordering books that will be donated to a nursing home in her town.  This facility will only accept Large Print editions.

Last year there was a member who used credits to get books for the clinic in the town she lived in.  I don't know if she still has an active post in Book Bazaar or not.

I agree - post in Club Communications - you'll probably get plenty of suggestions.  Do you have kids or grandkids in school?  Can their teachers use credits to get books?  I have probably doubled my class library thanks to PBS!

I'm a worthy cause....

No, someone was using their credits to get large print books to go to a nursing home.  Maybe you can order some kids books and donate them to the children's hospital near your area.  Just an idea.

I think it is great that some members here want to use their credits to benefit others in the spirit of the season of giving.

Just recently, a member here gave me a credit to help me out for my Christmas shopping. They seen a post that I made in the November wish thread that our budget is really tight this year and that I've been trying to find more affordable ways to get gifts so I have been getting my daughter, and my family and friends books from here and I keep running out of credits. So, I think it is really great when people do thoughtful things like that. It reminds you that there are still geniune kind people in this world. :)

I work at our large FOL store and since I get an amazingly good deal I stock up on books (step into reading type books) for my best friend's classroom. She teaches first grade. I'm thinking about stocking up on books for classrooms in other schools in our district as well. Maybe you could find a classroom in need of books and find someone who will give you a deal on kids books that are appropriate for classrooms. I have a few kids books and I'd do that in heart beat.

Thanks for all the good suggestions on buddying extra credits.  I was a good Santa's helper for a few people! Great feeling!

I can always use extra credits to order books for booksforsoliders.com  I package the books I get and send them over to the troops.  They REALLY appreciate all the reading material they get!

I would like to add that many libraries have collections at this time of year for books for kids for the holdiays. You may want to look at getting some kids books and donating them there.
