This is a great book to read with an active toddler because it has actions to recreate. It helps an active child listen to the story (as it were here) and eventually be able to sit and enjoy a story. My youngest knew this one book by heart when she was very young, and would retell the story and do the actions by herself. This was a favorite book of ours.
