I might be a bit slanted on my view of this book due to the fact that the author has a PhD in physics, perhaps this is why Giordano has such a clear view of the husband/narrator of this story. He tells his story with a sure hand and no wasted words. It is a story about family and about people who come into our lives and have a more profound effect than expected or perhaps realized in the moment. I also appreciated the reference to "Babette", another story which says so much, while saying so little.
