Richard Mabry is probably one of my favorite authors for medical fiction. And while I finished this book in a day, the story was a little bit different for me. Not in a bad way, just different.

It opens with a doctor getting ready to leave for the night when a gunman races in, taking hostage Mark, the nurse and several others. I thought this might hold out for a while and maybe take up a chapter or so but in all reality, it was only a couple pages as the gunman is taken care of pretty quickly. I am sure you are asking, then was that the end of the book? No way! Richard Mabry takes you on a trip as the nurse and doctor are both targeted for their role in the death of the gunman. And at the end there is a twist I did not see coming at all. There were times I felt like I was reading a book geared more for young adults but as I said above, this one kept my attention til the end. Great characters and a good steady plot that just might keep you up late at night:) Loved it!
