what are your kids reading right now? what are the favorites? Our 4yr old LOVES "new books" so he's all the time wanting something new from the library to read, but some themes he always enjoys are dinosaurs, pirates, monsters, and knights :) Our littlest man, who will be one in just a few short weeks likes "I love you through and through" and "Busy Baby's Colors" best right now. |

My 8 year old is currently reading "The Mouse and The Motorcycle" by Beverly Cleary. She is also really into the Magic Tree House books. She is working on completing the passport that can be downloaded from the Magic Tree House website. My 5 year old loves picture books. Dinosaurs and pirates are favorites. To my 9 month old we are reading Good Night Moon.

Both my 4- and 6-year-old boys are enjoying the Magic Tree House series. They are also enjoying Junie B. Jones, but I started changing some of her words after my 4-yr-old blurted out "ewww - stink bomb!" in church because of the incense. The Richard Scarry Busy Day books are started to look a bit worn because of the repeated readings. |

For the kids I nanny, they read chapter books at night with their mom, and picture books with me. Lately, the 4-year-old girl has been enchanted with the little books about artists that are written and illustrated by Laurence Anholt -- her favorite is the Picasso one. She loves reading, though, and can always be seen with many, many books. The 6-year-old boy loves the Leo Lionni mouse books, and nonfiction books -- his latest interest is mummies. |

When my daughter was young she loved "Noisy Nancy Norris." She knew it by heart. My grandchildren love "The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear." |
