In the 1940's, Bob Lamphere was a young go-getter in the FBI stationed in New York. Involved from the beginning and throughout the hunt for the "atom spies," (all of them, not just the Rosenbergs), he knew and had extensive contact with all the leading and supporting actors on all sides. The fall of the Soviet Union permitted him to supplement his own memories and FBI files with all the relevant KGB files from that time. The result is a fascinating re-telling of this dramatic period from the ultimate insider.
