I am fairly new. I thought requests would sort of come in trickles - a few here, a few there. But at one point I had 13 requests and now I haven't had any for about a week or so! Reminds me of cars on a freeway - they always seem to come in bunches and then there are long stretches with none at all. What have others' experiences been like?

That's generally how it goes, katlover...one week, you're hitting the Post Office every day with a stack, then no requests for 3 weeks.

Lately I've been getting a lot of requests for books that have been on my shelf for over a year, while some WL books are sitting, getting offered to member after member, with each one timing out and moving on to the next. Go figure!

that is my experience too.  I noticed a huge request after posting a lot of books but that is because they were probably WL'd.

now I get maybe 1 per week but 1 is better than none

I'm pretty new too, but my experience has been much like yours.  I did run a 2 for 1 special over in the book bazaar that got a few books off my shelf, so you might try that if you really need to get rid of some.

That's been my experience, too.  Also, lately my wish list has been like that -- I get no books from that for some time, then all of a sudden I hit the jackpot and get a bunch of wishlisted books sent in a short span of time.

I know. I've only been here a short  time. I had 14 orders in day. Then none for several days.  Then 3 multiple book orders on Mon. and nothing since.

I got the Mon. orders almost immediately after I put some freebies in my signature.  I think I need to go through my book stacks again and pull out some damaged ones to post as free w/an order.  But so far I've been happy w/the response I've gotten.  I don't want to have to go to the post ofc every day.

It works that way for me too. I've gone weeks with nothing and now over the past week and a half I've had 10 orders.

I've had a drought of WL books recently.  Which is OK--I'm building up credits.   Just waiting for the middle of the Kenshin series to get posted all at once.   The beginning came in, the end came in (not nesc in that order)....but I'm a bit confused as to where the middle is!

I have 8 books coming to me, I sent out 2 and I have two that may..or may not go out.   Then after that I might not send any books out for a week or more.

I can go a few weeks with no requests and nothing posted to my WL, and suddenly I've got a flood of books going and coming at the same time!  I think of it as an ebb and flow type of thing.

I agree that it is feast or famine.  The first day I was back from my vacation I had 4 of my WL books offered to me whereas I had gone weeks prior with nary a one.

The books on my bookshelf  seem to move in spurts also- mostly BOB transactions or when I have a deal offer listed in the Book Bazar as I am doing this week.  Yesterday 5 packages to the post office, today 2 and I have 2 ready to go tomorrow.  I have noticed also that there has been more activity now that summer is drawing to a close.  Maybe cooler days and evenings turn more thoughts to reading a good book.
