I really like this series featuring a commodities lawyer. These are smart and have a fresh angle, and lead character Kate Millholland is easy to relate to. She's similar to Alex Cooper, Linda Fairstein's series lead, in many ways -- but different, even as she's equally likable. So far, I've only been able to find three books written by Hartzmark. I'm hopeful I'm just not looking in the right area.

from the back:
When lawyer Katharine Millholland arrives at the home of Bart Hexter, one of Chicago's most powerful players in the futures market, she finds him behind the wheel of his Rolls Royce, clad only in a pair of red silk pajamas, with two bullets in his head. The police investigation focuses on those closest to Hexter--including his spoiled wife, his recently displaced mistress, his disgruntled personal assistant, an ambitious floor trader, and the 3 hot-tempered children who will inherit his buisness. But topping the list of suspects is Kate, whose scheduled meeting with the dead man makes her the prime candidtate for murder. As Kate sorts through the tangle of the dead man's complex financial dealings, she finds herself dangerously drawn into his affairs, and into a virulent web of potential enemies. And as she zeros in on the killer, she realizes that she may be the next victim.....

Mostly mystery, but a little chick lit as well.
