I'm convinced that these are two of the finest stories in all of literature. Peter S. Beagle wrote A Fine and Private Place when he was 19 years old--- it amazes me that someone so young can understand love and loss so vividly. It's a very poignant love story about finding someone after you've completely given up hope. The second story, The Last Unicorn, is a fantasy tour de force SO vibrant and SO moving that even now, 15 years after the first time I read it, I can still quote entire pages by heart. This is fantasy for people who hate fantasy. This is fantasy for people who love fantasy. This is a book for the ages, and one you will not be able to put down once you start reading it.

I reall enjoyed the first book in this novel, I would give this book on it own 4 starts. The secound book in this novel was not as good as I would have thought,I would have given this book on it's own 2 stars.
