I just finished A Gracious Plenty by Sheri Reynolds and Peace Like a River by Leif Engle. They were both really good. I really liked A Gracious Plenty, and have still been thinking about it since. Peace Like a River was really different and had a good ending. Anyone read these? What did you think?

I read Peace Like a River several years ago.  I liked it alot, but found that when I loaned it out, reactions were "mixed."  Heck, I think I still have that book for some reason!

I just mailed A Gracious Plenty to someone the other day.  We read it several years ago for book club.  I remember that we liked it, and had good discussion about it.  We also read Peace Like a River.  Can't remember a thing about that one except that we read it.  Getting old is just a huge problem  : - 0

Have you read Rapture of Canaan by Sheri Reynolds.  If you liked A Gracious Plenty I know you will like that one.  It's on my 'keeper' shelf.

I read Peace Like A River a few years ago and knew that it was one that I'd come back to. I just pulled it off the shelf the other day and put it in the 'staging' pile in the family room. I remember thinking at the time that the writing reminded me of Cold Mountain, a beautifully-written book.

Ok I just finished the Rapture of Canaan. I loved it too! I am really liking Sheri Reynolds. I started with A Gracious Plenty and then Rapture of Canaan. I just ordered Bitterroot Landing and Firefly Cloak by her on PBS. Can't wait to get them! I think I might have another favorite author.

"Peace Like A River" is energetic, magical and beautifully written in a style that can only be called gorgeous.   I absolutely loved this book and recommend it to everyone.   It was like Cold Mountain which is one of my all time favorites.

I just finished Enger's latest book, So Brave, Young, and Handsome and it is as absorbing as a campfire tale, full of winking outlaws and relentless villains--the sort of story to keep you on the edge of your seat with hope in your heart.

I hope Enger doesn't wait so long between his next book!
