Wow! I stayed up all night just to finish this book. As an survivor of child sexual abuse I wish my mother had run with me. I cried for hours.

I'm sorry Melanie. Yeah, the premise for this book was interesting.

I have to say, though, it wasn't THE book for me. I had a hard time getting through it and wanted to abandon it at a point. It did pick up towards the end though, but it just wasn't one of my favorite Picoult books.

Which Picoult was your favorite? The only other I've read so far is MY Sister's Keeper. That one also kept me up all night.

I'll have to post this to my books to read list. Thanks!

This was not one of my favorites by Jodi Picoult. I'd put it someone in the middle if I were ranking them. It was a little long and drawn out for me. I'd have to say my favorite books by Picoult so far are My Sister's Keeper, Nineteen Minutes, and The Pact.

I thought it was great!  I had my dh read it.  I have almost all of Picoult's books, but so far have only read Vanishing Acts and then My Sister's Keeper.

I'm kind of reading Vanishing Acts right now, but I haven't picked it up in a while.  For some reason - I just don't feel like reading it anymore.  Should I force myself through it or should I give it up, put it on my bookshelf, and move on?

BookBabe, it wasn't one I was "glad I forced myself to read" if you wanna know. It got a little more interesting at the end, but I was happy to finish it.

Vanishing Acts wasn't one of my favorites by her, either, but my absolute least favorite by her so far is The Tenth Circle. My favorites by her are The Pact, My Sister's Keeper and Plain Truth. I have Keeping Faith, Nineteen Minutes and Harvesting the Heart on my TBR shelf. (I'm not near the shelf, so I may be a little off on the titles. :-)

I wasn't crazy about Vanishing Acts either.  My main gripe was the main character's (name?) relationships with the journalist and lawyer characters, I thought those were ill-contrived.  I think this book was my least favorite of hers so far.

My FAVORITE Jodi Picoult book hands down was My Sister's Keeper.  I also liked Nineteen Minutes.  I read Picture Perfect and I thought that one was okay.  I have a few more of her books on my TBR.

I am glad to hear someone else didn't really care for Tenth Circle either.  I have read My Sister's Keeper and I really liked that one.  Can't wait to read some of the other ones that you all have mentioned.  Renee'

Second Glance was really good, too. It may take a while to get into, what with all the different characters and storylines, but it all comes together after a while. And the subject matter is very interesting.
