and so loved that series that I cannot seem to get interested in any other books. No other book seem interesting to me. I am looking for a good book to keep my mind occupied. Any suggestions? Nothing religious or paranormal. I tried to read "Mudbound" but couldn't get into it. I am now reading "The Four Corners of the SKy" but really need something with more "meat" in it. I am finishing up the The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and am very sorry that the series will end with this book. Suggestions to read- The Alienist by Caleb Carr, John Adams or Mornings on Horseback or 1776 by David McCullough, TheDress Lodger by Sheri Holman, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows, The March by E. L. Doctorow, March by Geraldine Brooks, The Glass Castle or Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls. A cozy mystery series I would recommend is The Beatrix Potter Cottage Series by Susan Wittig Albert. There are some of my all time favorites. I already saw you are reading the Outlander series which I loved as well.

IN THE WOODS by Tana French. I think it is a very well written psychological thriller. I usually read in the evening, but I found myself trying to find time to "sneak" in a couple of pages during the day! I loved it. I plan on reading her next book THE LIKENESS....... many of the same characters as IN THE WOODS. (French is a Irish author, and the stories take place in Ireland) Last Edited on: 6/30/10 2:19 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Have you tried any of Jacqueline Winspear's series about Masie Dobbs? Or Barbara Cleverly's series on Joe Sandilands?
Check them out.

Try Shantaram by Rogers....some of the most beautiful writing you'll ever read, unusual (and true) story. I highly recommend it. |

Try the books by Dennis Lehane with the characters Kenzie and Gennaro. Gone, Baby, Gone is one of those books and a new one will be released early November. Great characters and great stories. I agree that the Larsson series is a tough act to follow..............those books are brilliant. Last Edited on: 9/30/10 7:31 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Read another Swede. Try Henning Mankell. I would suggest, 'Faceless Killers' or 'Sidetracked.' Both made into TV shows starring Kenneth Branaugh on PBS mystery. |
