Call it simple space opera if you like, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I certainly liked it better than the first book in this trilogy - "A Small Colonial War."

And I have the third book, "Cain's Land," on my WL.

I feel a certain affinity for the author, as I went to the same small college he did, only I was nine years ahead of him. So we weren't there at the same time.
