This book is a great source for any first-year teacher, and it brings up a lot of practical issues that aren't covered in your teacher education classes. Nicely organized, easy to read, positive and up beat, as well as very practical! It is a little out of date (written during the late 80's/early 90's so it doesn't address technology). However, if you're a new teacher, you should get this book!

This is a great book for a new teacher. It is full of very practical ideas for setting up your classroom, discipline strategies and communicating with parents. It is very positive and encouraging.
