A semi-sequel to Elusive Passion but can easily be read alone.
Entertaining read about a wounded war vet carrying emotional scars from Waterloo and a very tall woman who lost her first love to another woman and feels like she is unlovable. They're a good match with a lot of chemistry from the start. Smith writes a fun, brisk story with plenty of steamy scenes.
For some reason, I found the steamy scenes a bit tedious. I've read a lot of romance and enjoy a good love scene, these I just wanted to fast forward. Perhaps they were too predictable?
I was also impatient with the story. We went around in circles about who will admit to love first, circles around him hiding his "bad" past, circles around the situation with her ex, Carny. The pacing didn't totally work for me. That said, I would still recommend.
