This book is a hard read. I bought it before going to Gautemala and the contents helped me understand the people - they have suffered SO MUCH! That's the part that's hard to read. They have undergone harship upon hardship and this book documents it all. Yet the Guatemalan people have great resilience! If you can handle reading about the pain others have undergone, then don't hesitate, but it's not a happy book!
