The imperial palace was a symbol of extreme power in feudal society. The Forbidden City in Beijing was the residence of 21 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties over 491 years. Zheng Zhihai and Qu Zhijing tell in a rigorous approach the history of it. I had the honor to read the manuscript and learned a great deal.
