What tickled me about this book is how the ENTIRE PLOT is taken straight from Jane Eyre. I wonder how many readers of Harlequin Presents are familiar with Charlotte Brontë? It's all there; the poor waif who goes to work for a mysterious reclusive employer who lives in an isolated mansion. The secret wife, there's even a fire towards the end of the book. So this story is a lot more Gothic than your typical HP. I had to keep reading just to find out if it would follow Jane Eyre till the end, and it did.
