Excellent naval fiction about a master of an American merchantman who is impressed into the British navy. And that is just the beginning of the British Navy's troubles.

The time period is the beginning of the American Revolution and all it takes is a beating or two to turn a simple smuggler into a rabid revolutionary.

I'm looking forward to reading about Issac Briddlecomb's adventures in the rest of the series.

This was an alright book but not great. I don't really know what kept me from liking it better. It seemed authentic and accurate but it sort of drug along and seemed two dimensional. I hope that it picks up from this point on.
