Another engaging mystery from Harper, with lots of Australian local color. Unlike the previous Aaron Falk novel, Harper's first, this mystery lacks the personal element for detective Falk, and my main criticism is that he doesn't do much "detecting" -- as a police investigator who has been pressuring the missing woman for information about the dodgy dealings of the company she works for, he is very much on the periphery of the search for her, and the revelation of what actually happened to her. But the women's so-called "team-building" exercise, deep in the Austrian bush, develops a real "Lord of the Flies" vibe that is very readable!
