This book probably belongs on the lending bookshelf of every therapist or counselor. It gives a convincing, mildly faith-based approach to learning to forgive hurts that continue hurting and helps in the psychological healing process. It stands along, too, as a self-help book. Smedes uses real examples from his practice that will ring true to readers. No matter who or what you need or want to forgive and believe you can't, the book can be helpful. Smedes is a therapist and theologian known for his work in the area of forgiveness.
