We just found out that my Mom is diabetic. Does anyone have any rec. for good books, meal plans, etc? I know Atkins is pretty good for low carb diets but any good cookbooks. Would love some input and ideas:) Thanks!

He is a Type 1 diabetic and was able to reverse some of his diabetes complications by strictly controling his blood sugar.  His book is good for people with both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.  He became a physician so that he could get the message out that it is possible to control your blood sugar.  He advocates a low carb diet.

As for cookbooks, any of Dana Carpenter's books would be good.  There's also  a great site Linda Sue's Low Carb Recipies.
