Interesting novel about the apparently missing Anna Durrant and the few people who are (reluctantly) in her life. Brookner spends a lot of time drawing out the characters and showing their evolution over a lifetime. I enjoyed this book. It's a pleasantly slow, contemplative novel for a rainy day.
