It was embarrassing at first, showing my work to people who didn't know me. I figured they could see right through all my insecurities and neuroses, and then think I was weird and not like me. But that didn't happen. It seems everyone is neurotic and insecure, at least a little bit.
I am still a little embarrassed to share, but a little embarrassment does a person good. It means you are taking a risk and going out on a limb, exposing yourself. My friend Jonathan has shared some of our emails back and forth throughout the years. My art is very much like our email conversations, short, gross, or funny tidbits in response to the weird everyday nonsense of life.« less
