  Fresh Start Ahead of Me

With a fresh start ahead of me
I’m so glad to be set free

I must have been a fool
To stand out there looking cool

While getting soaked by the rain
Chilled to the bone, feeling the pain

Watching you get into that car
I felt that I should hit the nearest bar

You left me staring at your tail lights
Getting smaller and disappearing into the night

Once I got home, is when I realized that I’m the better one
That even though there is friction in my life, that I will never be alone

For I have my children and a great set of parents, that I could ever ask to have
They keep me going and drive me nuts but I can’t ask for anything else but their love

With God on my side and keeps me on track
I know, He is always watching my back
