This book had amazing potential - so many aspects of teen life that could have been explored - and it fell completely flat. Baer set up the possibility of mental illness, domestic abuse, drug abuse, the paranormal and instead, it's a CO leak? Which doesn't explain so many of the things that happen - the picture flying across the room, the nests being torn into the word "go", the closet door only opening easily for Leena, Celeste's bruises and so many other things. And David's response to fixing the problem with Frost House is completely extreme and out of character. I wish she'd explored the things she set up as possibilities, instead of copping out with some lame excuse. It's almost like she was afraid to venture fully into the unknown, when she'd already flirted with it for the whole book.
