I was cleaning out the freezer yesterday and found a 1/2 bag of frozen shrimp and 2 frozen lobster tails. Any suggestions on what I should do with them? I was thinking shrimp salad or something not too heavy since its summer and today is a hot hot day. No heavy cream sauces or imperials... Now that I think of it, this is sorta like "Stump the Chef" on Splendid Table. Let me know what you think! |

I would grill them- haven't tried lobster tails on the grill, but I would think it would work as well as the shrimp. I posted my favorite recipe for grilled shrimp under the thread titled "Recipes for the Grill, Add Yours" in this forum- it's quite light and very tasty. Good luck! |

here's what i did for dinner tonight: I boiled the shrimp in water + lemon juice and salt and set aside. next, i threw some olive oil and butter in a pan with lemon juice, veggie stock, artichoke hearts, diced tomatoes, and green peas. plus, salt, pepper, garlic, a small pinch of saffron, red pepper flakes, cilantro, and some parsley. simmer for a bit then added some soy milk and dash of sugar to combat the sour lemon. simmer some more and tossed in the shrimp and served over penne. all ingredients were hiding in my cabinets. oh, and the lobster tails... well, they had been in the back of the freezer waaay too long and after boiling those, removing the shell was just gross- so I tossed them. ick. |
