Fruit - The Cultivated Gardener
Author: Kristin Joyce
Apples, pears, plums, and other seasonal delights move Shakespeare to ecstasy, Garcia-Marquez to mystical observations, and Eliot to ask, "Do I dare to eat a peach?" The paintings by Chardin, Rossetti, and Durer offer only a taste of fruit's eternal appeal. 40 color illustrations.
