I'm more than a litle frustrated at the moment.

One of my wishlist books popped up on the 11th. I was very excited as it is a Tolkien book and I'm collecting them so that I can read them in order. Anyway, 2 days go by and I didn't see any response on the book so I pmed the member and said "i really hope you can mail this as I am collecting all of Tolien's books :) ". 2 days later I get a response of  " I will mail you this book. I am really very busy at the moment though. At some poinit, I will mail this book". Ok. Fine by me. Unfortunately,  he never did mail the book. The status stayed at "accepted" until PBS removed the transaction due to failure of the member to respond to any emails from them. Great. So I go back in line on the wishlist. A couple of hours later, lo and behold - it comes up again that I have this wishlist book available. I check to see who the member is and sure enough it's the same guy. I email R&R and ask to be taken out of the loop since it's pretty obvious to me that this person isn't going to have time to mail the book. They refused and told me to wait it out. WHAT? I understand that they don't want to jump to conclusions but isn't it pretty obvious seeing as how I'm still stuck at "waiting for member" on the request that this guy isn't going to mail the book and now if it does get posted into the system by someone else, I won't get it. It's not like this is a popular book. Instead of just giving me the generic response, why not actually look at the case and understand that I've already pmed this member once and gotten a semi shady reply which by the way, I told R&R in my email. I'm all for having patience but this just sems a bit rude to me. I have to suffer because they don't want the other member to get hurt feelings or whatever.

Did you tell them that you had exchanged PMs with the sender the first time and that gave you the impression that the sender was lackadaisical?  If not, I don't think they will necessarily look at PMs automatically to find that out.

I think they may want you to wait it out because they keep track of that info and if a sender has a lot of books time out because they don't mail, they they may get in trouble.

When the guy missed the deadline for pressing "sent" the first time, the book was removed from his shelf.   For it to be offered to you again by him, he would have had to repost it, so it seems reasonably likely he has it right on hand and ready to mail.  I wouldn't try to "get out of the loop" on just the second go-around.

I understand that he reposted it. However, he hasn't responded to the request at all. I did let R&R know that I had pmed him and heard nothing in response from them.  My only complaint is that if it's posted while I'm in limbo here then I'm out of luck. Not the end of the world but certainly frustrating.

And just out of curiousity I went to this person's profile and this is what I find.

Order Multiple Books at once from Damon H.

This member currently does not have any books posted in the system.

It seems that R&R finally stepped in. They have suspended the account until they work things out with the member. In the meantime, they said I would go back on the list  and that no copies have been posted since it started.
